Levitre and Lewis to Go Bowling Twice This Season
Dec. 30, 2008
Mobile, Ala. - Wednesday’s Sun Bowl against Pittsburgh won’t be the final bowl game for a pair of Oregon State seniors. Offensive tackle Andy Levitre and cornerback Keenan Lewis have both accepted invitations to the Under Armour Senior Bowl, officials announced Tuesday. Kickoff for the 60th game is set for 6 pm (CT) on January 24th in Mobile’s Ladd-Peebles Stadium and the game will be televised by the NFL Network.
Levitre, a co-captain for the Beavers this season, earned first team All-America honors by both Pro Football Weekly and the American Football Coaches Association. He was also a second team Associated Press All-American and first team All-Pac-10 selection. The right tackle has anchored an offensive line that has surrendered just 16 sacks entering Wednesday’s game. He has played every position on the line except center, including tight end.
Lewis, a native of New Orleans, is a three time first team Pac-10 All-Academic selection. The 6-1, 196 pound defensive back has 31 tackles on the season to go along with three interceptions and eight pass break-ups.
