Beavers Defeat Northern Arizona

TUCSON, Ariz. - The Oregon State women's swim team defeated Northern Arizona by a score of 161-139, but was unable to pull out the victory against Pacific-10 Conference No. 7 Arizona when the Beavers fell by a score of 243-37. Oregon State also fell to Washington 183-79, Friday.

Oregon State began the afternoon with a fourth place finish in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:44.56, setting the second fastest time this season for the Beavers. The group consisted of Nicole Pressprich, Andria Breeden, Rachel Polack and Lisa Chewning.

Anna Crandall received her second dual victory of the season, eighth of her career, with a first place finish in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:52.34. Kayla Rawlings completed the event in ninth with a time of 1:56.33.

Rawlings also had a second place finish in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:01.71. Brittney Iverson followed in fifth, 2:05.55, while Rachael Wahl ended in 12th in 2:10.23.

During the 100 butterfly, Rawlings continued to score with a third place finish with a time of 57.24, while Iverson finished her afternoon with a sixth place finish in the 200 individual medley in 2:07.69. Anna Heller finished the 200 individual medley in ninth with a time of 2:10.99.

Oregon State continues competition in Arizona when the Beavers take on Pac-10 Conference Arizona State on Saturday, Jan. 3, at 12 p.m.
