Quizz Earns Yet Another Honor

Jan. 8, 2009

Corvallis, Ore. - Oregon State freshman running back Jacquizz Rodgers added to his growing list of honors Thursday by being selected to the prestigious Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) Freshman All-America Team.

Rodgers' honor adds to an already impressive list of accolades for the true freshman from Richmond, Texas. He was named the Pac-10 Conference's Offensive Player of the Year (first freshman ever) and Freshman of the Year last month. In addition, Rodgers has earned Freshman of the Year honors by the Sporting News and CBS Sports.com among others.

Rodgers ran for a Pac-10 freshman record 1,263 yards, despite missing the final seven quarters of the regular season with a shoulder injury. He is expected to be at full health when spring practice begins in late March.
