Women's Basketball Loses To Arizona State

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Mercedes Fox-Griffin led the way for the Beavers with 10 points as the Oregon State women's basketball team fell to Arizona State, 61-36, Thursday night at legendary Gill Coliseum.
Fox-Griffin led the team with 10 points ,going 5-for-9 from the floor, with an assist in 33 minutes. The game marked the sixth time this season that she has scored double digits and the 31st time for her career.
The Beavers fell behind early in the first half and despite surges throughout, never found their way back into the game.
Oregon State (9-4 overall, 0-3 Pac-10 Conference) came into the game 6-0 at home this season and for the first time this season trailed at the half at home.
Arizona State (9-6, 1-2) shot 50 percent from the field in the victory and was led by Sybil Dosty, who had a game-high 12 points.
Dosty was 6-for-8 from the floor in the game with seven rebounds in only 19 minutes. Dymond Simon and Lauren Lacey both added 10 points.
Oregon State stays home Saturday night to host Arizona. The game, at legendary Gill Coliseum, is scheduled for 7 p.m. PT. The game will air live on KTHH 990-AM in the Corvallis area, Beaver Nation Online (osubeavers.com) and Yahoo! Sports.
Tickets are still available for the game against Arizona. Reserved tickets for individual women's basketball games are $10, while general admission for adults is $7 and senior/youth is $5.
Single-game and season tickets are available by visiting osubeavers.com, calling 1-800-GO-BEAVS or by visiting the ticket office at legendary Gill Coliseum. Also available is the Pac-10 package. The Pac-10 package includes one ticket to each of the team's nine conference games at Gill Coliseum. Reserved tickets for the Pac-10 package are $56 while general admission tickets cost $45.
Oregon State Notes: Oregon State started the 11th straight time ... It consists of Tiffany Ducker, Alex Mitchell, Mercedes Fox-Griffin, Talisa Rhea and Brittney Davis ... Stacey Nichols started the first two games of the season in place of Mitchell.
