Women's Soccer Spring Academy Starts Next Week
Jan. 13, 2009
SEATTLE - The University of Washington women's soccer program will host a Spring Academy starting January 23. The Academy, open to both boys and girls between the ages of 6-13, is an eight-week program designed to develop and inspire young soccer players.
Run by the University of Washington women's soccer coaches and student-athletes, players will get to experience first-hand the cutting edge technical development progressions that build the complete soccer player: dribbling and one-on-one moves; the full array of passing, from short and simple to curling and complex; shooting and volleying and more, all filtered into game application.
The Academy will be held on the University of Washington campus with only current coaches and student-athletes as instructors. Training will be outside so please dress accordingly.
The purpose for this opening academy of 2009 is to raise funds for the University of Washington women's soccer team's foreign tour to Brazil in June. All proceeds will go directly to the tour so you can help push the Huskies to continued and future success.
The Academy will be held Jan. 23 and 30, Feb. 6, 13, 20 and 27, and March 6 and 13. Ages 6-9 will be on the field from 5-6:30 p.m. followed by ages 10-13 from 6:30-8 p.m. The Academy is $200 per person and includes all of the above dates. Payment may be made by check.
