Ishino, Alexander Lead Stanford Road Sweep

SEATTLE - Scores of 9.9 by Allyse Ishino on the balance beam and Shelley Alexander on the vault highlighted a Stanford sweep of a women's gymnastics quad meet at University of Washington's Bank of America Arena on Friday.
Stanford, ranked No. 7 in the nation, scored 196.45 points to beat Washington (194.25), Sacramento State (193.55) and Seattle Pacific 188.425. The Cardinal improved to 6-0.
Ishino led a strong beam performance, resulting in a team score of 49.325 on the first rotation, giving Stanford a lead it would not relinquish. The score, which also included freshman Nicole Pechanec's 9.875, was the best of meet for any team in any event.
The Cardinal returns to action Thursday for its home opener against Arizona State, at 7 p.m.
