Curry Leads Bruin Distance Runners At UW Preview

Junior Krishna Curry led a small group of distance runners on Saturday at the UW Preview in Seattle, WA as the 800m runner finished second overall with a lifetime-best time of 2:11.21. Curry is just 2.21 seconds shy of an NCAA provisional qualifying mark and today's run bettered her previous season-best of 2:12.53.

Also in the 800m, junior Rosa Magana was 4th in her heat (2:16.78), while senior Gabrielle Bournes was sixth in the final heat (2:22.68).

In the 3000m, freshman Katja Goldring led the way with her ninth-place overall showing as she ran 10:00.84. Sophomore Kelcie Wiemann was second in her heat of the 3000m, running 10:37.42.

Freshman Camilla Dencer was second overall in the 400m as she crossed the finish line in a time of 57.37. In the mile, sophomore Shannon Murakami finished first in her heat (4:58.92), while senior Lauren Jirges was second in that same heat (5:02.51).

The women's team will next head to Nampa, ID for the Bronco Invitational January 30-31.
