USC Men Set Up For Spring Semis

The USC men's tennis team is getting heated up for the spring with competition at the Sherwood Collegiate this weekend. After two days of play, the Trojans have pushed through two to singles semifinals and another two pairs to the doubles semi on Sunday.
The Trojans packed three players into today's singles quarterfinals, with Robert Farah and Jaak Poldma each forcing their ways into the semis. Farah took on USC freshman Daniel Nguyen in the quarters and beat out his Trojan teammate to earn a place in the semifinals vs. UCLA's Matt Brooklyn tomorrow at 1 p.m. Meanwhile, Jaak Poldma also will do semifinal battle, having topped Stanford's Greg Hirshman in the quarterfinals to go up against another Cardinal player, second-seeded Alex Clayton tomorrow in the semis.
In doubles action, both semifinals also feature Trojans. Farah teams up with Steven Johnson in the first 10:30 a.m. semifinal, while USC's Abdullah Magdas and Nguyen compete in the second semifinal for the right to move into the doubles final.
