Women's Tennis Concludes Day Two of the Freeman Memorial Championship

The women's tennis team concluded day two of the Freeman Memorial Championship. With ups and downs throughout the day, the Sun Devils will have one doubles team in the semi-finals.
The doubles team of Kelcy McKenna and Micaela Hein moved on to the semi-finals of the Flight One Doubles. The duo handily swept past Marit Boonstra and Anastasia Revzina topping them 8-1. Also in doubles, Ashlee Brown and Sianna Simmons won their consolation match 8-2 over Carolyn McVeigh and Courtney Clayton.
Singles action did not fair as well for the Sun Devils. McKenna was upset in her quarterfinal match to Georgia Tech's Irina Falconi 6-3, 6-3. Hein took USC's Sarah Fansler to three sets but fell 6-3, 3-6, 6-1.
In the consolation bracket of Flight Two Singles, Simmons made her way to the finals by winning both her quarterfinal and semifinal matches. Simmons topped Florida's Barbara Pinterova 6-1, 2-6, 6-4 in the quarterfinals. She followed up with a 6-4, 6-4 win over UCLA's Ana Victoria Lind.
The Freeman Memorial Championships will conclude tomorrow.
