WASHINGTON FORGES THREE-WAY TIE
WASHINGTON has won 11 of its last 12 and has pushed its way into a three-way tie for first in the Pac-10 standings. The Huskies and WASHINGTON STATE are coming off a pair of sweeps and host UCLA and USC this week... ARIZONA takes on Houston in non-league action on Saturday. The Conference is 88-29 (.752) in non-league play this season and have four more non-conference games on the docket during the regular season - Cal State Bakersfield at OREGON STATE (Jan. 26), Notre Dame at UCLA (Feb. 7), Cal State Bakersfield at OREGON (Feb. 10), and Seattle at Washington (Mar. 3)... This week's rankings include UCLA (No. 13 AP/No. 11 ESPN/USA Today) and ARIZONA STATE (17/16).

Around the league... ARIZONA is 0-6 in true road games this season. The last time Arizona lost six consecutive road games came Dec. 3, 1983 -Feb. 13, 1984, when the Cats actually dropped seven straight road tilts in what was Lute Olson's first season in Tucson. Over the last five games, junior F Chase Budinger is shooting 51.7 percent (31-of-60) from the field and averaging 17.8 points per game... ARIZONA STATE is 6-0 in its past six overtime games. It was 4-0 last year and is 2-0 this year. Senior F Jeff Pendergraph is shooting 20-of-24 (.833) from the field over the last three games. He leads the Pac-10 in field goal percentage (.690, 100-of-145). Sophomore G James Harden posted a team-high 24 points in the overtime win at UCLA. The Sun Devils are 22-5 when he scores at least 20 points... CALIFORNIA junior F Jamal Boykin tallied a career-high 22 points as he shot 10-of-13 from the field in the loss at Stanford. The Bears lead the league shooting .473 (116-of-245) from three-point range. Only one other team in league history finished the season shooting better from beyond the arc - Arizona in 1987-88 (.483)... With 233 career three-pointers, OREGON junior G Tajuan Porter needs eight three-pointers to crack the Pac-10 career top-10 list. Porter, who had started the first 17 games of the season, came off the bench to hit 4-of-7 from beyond the arc in the loss to Washington State. Junior F Joevan Catron averaged 12.0 points and 9.5 rebounds against the Washington schools. He's fifth in the league, averaging 7.1 rebounds... OREGON STATE sophomore G Lathen Wallace posted back-to-back 13-point performances against the Washington schools, thanks to 5-of-10 shooting from three-point range. Wallace has scored in double digits in eight games this season and leads the team with 21 three-pointers. A crowd of 6,648 was announced for the Washington game, the largest of the season. ... STANFORD has had considerable success over the Oregon schools at Maples Pavilion, having won the last 22 meetings with Oregon at Maples, and the last 15 at home over Oregon State. The last Oregon victory at Maples came during the 1985-86 season, while the Beavers last win at Stanford came during the 1992-93 season... UCLA has won 11 of its last 12 road games in Pac-10 play. The Bruins have won the last 15 meetings at Washington State's Friel Court. Senior C Alfred Aboya recorded his first career double-double with 12 points/12 rebounds in the win over Arizona. Senior G Darren Collison joined former Bruins Tyus Edney (1992-95) and Earl Watson (1998-01) as the only UCLA players to record 500 assists and 200 steals in a career... USC freshman F DeMar DeRozan has scored in double digits in each of the last 12 games. He's averaging 13.9 points in that span of games, including a career-best 22 points in the win over Arizona State. Junior G Dwight Lewis hit 7-of-13 (.538) from three-point range in the sweep of the Arizona schools. Lewis raised his team leading total to 31 three-pointers and is shooting 41.9 percent from beyond the arc. He hit 31 three-pointers all of last season... The next double-double for WASHINGTON senior F Jon Brockman will be the 50th of his career. Brockman became the school's career leader in rebounds when he pulled down 10 rebounds in the win at Oregon. His career rebound total stands at 1,063 rebounds and with 18 more, he'll move up to sixth on the Pac-10 career list. The Huskies have won 11 of their last 12 games... WASHINGTON STATE set a Pac-10 and school record with a perfect 28-of-28 from the free throw line in the win at Oregon. Senior G Taylor Rochestie was a perfect 16-of-16 from the line as he tallied a career-high 30 points. Rochestie averaged 22 points, hitting 6-of-12 from three-point range, and added 7.5 assists in the sweep of the Oregon schools. Senior C Aron Baynes shot 12-of-17 (.706) from the field and 11-of-11 form the free throw line to average 18 points and 11.5 rebounds in the pair of wins... Washington and Washington State each swept the Oregon schools last week. Since the league expanded to 10 teams in 1978-79, it was the first time both schools achieved the road sweep in the same season.
