Cougar Women Head to Los Angeles

The Washington State women's basketball team (8-8, 1-4 Pacific-10 Conference) hits the road again to face UCLA (12-4, 3-2 Pac-10) in Los Angeles, Thursday. Tip-off against the Bruins is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Pauley Pavilion.
The Cougars will close out their road trip with USC, Saturday at Galen Center at 1 p.m. WSU will have played five of its first seven conference games on the road.

NATION'S BIGGEST TURNAROUNDS
With three more victories already in 2008-09 than in all of last season, the Cougars rank tied for ninth nationally amongst teams making the greatest turnarounds this season.
FROSH ONE-TWO PUNCH
Not only does Cougar freshman Jazmine Perkins rank sixth in scoring in the Pacific-10 Conference, she is the top freshmen in the league and ranks fifth nationally amongst freshmen with 14.6 points per game. April Cook ranks second amongst Pac-10 freshman - and seventh overall in the conference - at 13.6 ppg.
The Cougars trail UCLA in the all-time series 6-39, and have yet to defeat the Bruins on the road (0-21). WSU's last victory over UCLA was in 2001, a 74-52 defeat at Friel Court (Jan.6).
WINNING THE TURNOVER BATTLE
The Cougars currently rank first in the Pac-10 in turnover margin at +4.4. The Cougars entered this week ranked 34th in the nation in the statistical category.
The Cougars have added two televised games to the 2008-09 schedule. WSU's home games against USC (Feb. 20) and Washington (March 6) will each be televised by FSN Northwest. Both games will tip-off at 7 p.m.
