Former Arizona State University golfer Paul Casey won the European Tour's Abu Dhabi Championship on Sunday by one shot over Martin Kaymer and Louis Oosthuizen.
Casey shot a 2-under 70 in the final round to finish at 21-under 267 for the tournament. It was his first win in two years, with his last victory coming at the 2007 Abu Dhabi event.
After surging to the top of the leaderboard with a 9-under 63 in the third round, Casey made five birdies in his first 10 holes on Sunday to stretch his lead to six. He made three bogeys coming in, but was still able to hang on for the victory.
Casey, who has been on the last three European Ryder Cup teams, now has nine career European Tour wins. He played at ASU from 1997 to 2000, winning six times including three straight Pac-10 Championships from 1998-2000 and the 1998 NCAA West Regional.
