THIS WEEK IN PAC-10 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: The Pac-10 returns to action on Thursday and Saturday with a full slate of games, including a battle between the Grand Canyon State schools, with Arizona traveling to Arizona State for a nationally televised contest on Fox Sports Net on Jan. 24.

USC and UCLA will host Washington and Washington State, while #8/6 California and #11/11 Stanford hit the road for Oregon and Oregon State.

PAC-10 IN THE RANKINGS: After a big win at home over Stanford over the weekend, California jumped up to eighth in the Associates Press poll and is just out of the top five in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll at No. 6. The Cardinal slipped a few spots and occupy the No. 11 position in both rankings. At various times in the season, three other league teams were either ranked or received votes, including Arizona State, UCLA and Oregon State.

When the poll was released on Nov. 24, it was the first time two Pac-10 teams have been ranked in the top five in the same week since the final poll in 1989-90. That year, Stanford was No. 2 and Washington was No. 3. Cal also achieved a first in that Nov. 24 poll, appearing in the top five in the ranking for the first time ever.
