Cougar Soccer Trio Earns West Region Honor

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Washington State University soccer student-athletes Kiersten Dallstream, Elysse Van Leer and Maggie Dougher were each named to the 2008 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas Scholar All-West Region team.
Dallstream, a junior from Fountain Hills, Ariz., scored four goals and led Washington State with five assists during the 2008 campaign and was named to the University Division First Team. A wildlife ecology major with a 3.48 grade point average, she was a member of the United States Under-20 World Cup team that captured a gold medal in Chile.
Van Leer is a native of Huntington Beach, Calif., and was named to the University Division Second Team. An education major with a 3.44 GPA, the junior led the Cougars with seven goals, including four game-winners, and 15 points.
Dougher is a junior from Scottsdale, Ariz., with a 3.75 GPA in movement studies. She started all 21 matches, recorded two assists, and was named to University Division honorable mention.
