Men's Hoops Hosts Cal State Bakersfield on Monday

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Fresh off its first weekend road sweep of Cal and Stanford since the 1992-93 season, the Oregon State men's basketball team returns to action this week as the Beavers step out of conference play to face Cal State Bakersfield on Monday, Jan. 26, at 7:00 p.m. The game will not be televised; however, it can be heard on the Beaver Sports Radio Network with Mike Parker providing the call.
Oregon State enters with a record of 8-10 overall after impressive wins at Cal and Stanford this past week. Roeland Schaftenaar poured in a career-high 22 points in the win over Cal while Calvin Haynes poured in a career-high 25 points in the 77-62 victory over Stanford on Saturday.
Haynes continues to lead the Oregon State attack as the sophomore guard leads the team in scoring with 16.0 points per game. Omari Johnson ranks second on the team with 8.8 points per contest while Schaftenaar is averaging 8.4 points per game for the Beavers.
Cal State Bakersfield enters the contest with a record 5-14 on the season after dropping a decision at UC Irvine on Wednesday.
Trent Blakley leads the Cal State Bakersfield attack with 13.6 points per game while Santwon Latunde is the other UCSB player in double figures, averaging 12.1 points per contest.
The meeting marks the second in series history and the first in Corvallis as Oregon State captured a 77-53 victory in Bakersfield last season.
Following the meeting with the Roadrunners, Oregon State returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 31, when the Beavers host Oregon in the Civil War presented by Northwest Dodge Dealers at 4:30 p.m.
