Trojan Alumni Invited To 2009 USC Baseball Jamboree Weekend

LOS ANGELES -- The USC Baseball Alumni Association (UBAA) will be hosting the 2009 USC Baseball Jamboree Weekend, Friday-Sunday (Feb. 6-8), featuring the USC Alumni Intrasquad Game on Sunday (Feb. 8) at Dedeaux Field.
The weekend will kick off with the UBAA Dinner at the Jonathan Club in downtown Los Angeles (545 S. Figueroa St., Los Angeles, CA 90071 - (213) 624-0881) on Friday (Feb. 6). Cocktails will being at 6 p.m. with the dinner starting at 7 p.m. Business casual attire (no denim) is required for entrance.
Former USC baseball batboy and major league Hall of Famer Sparky Anderson will be the guest speaker as attendees will hear more about the newly-formed UBAA, along with a celebration of the 1958/59 teams on their 50th anniversary and outlook for the upcoming 2009 season. Tickets are $85 per person which includes parking, two drinks and dinner. Saturday (Feb. 7) will be an off day, but alumni are invited to attend the annual dinner of the Association of Professional Ball Players of America (APBPA) at the Grand Long Beach Event Center in Long Beach. Reception is at 6:30 p.m. with the dinner at 7:30 p.m. Cost is $60 per person and checks may be mailed to APBPA at 1820 W. The USC Alumni Intrasquad Game will start with batting practice on Sunday (Feb. 8) at noon with the game starting at 2 p.m. Food and drinks will be provided following the game on the rooftop above the Hall of Fame.
Alumni may also attend the 2009 USC Baseball Awards Dinner on Sunday evening, beginning at 6 p.m. on campus at Town & Gown with tickets costing $75 per person.
