Bruins Down CSUN in Season Opener
UCLA defeated Cal State Northridge, 7-0 in the season opener for both teams on Jan. 21 at the Los Angeles Tennis Center. The Bruins looked strong in their first match since last year's NCAA Final, winning all three doubles matches before cruising to six straight-set singles wins. Sophomore Andrea Remynse played her first-ever match at the No. 1 singles spot, losing just one game en route to a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Evgeniya Vertesheva. In addition, newcomers Maya Johansson, Carling Seguso and Jordan Dockendorf were all victorious in their UCLA dual-match debuts.
