Swim & Dive Travels North For Meets Against Stanford and California

The Bruin swim and dive team, ranked 15th in the latest dual meet polls, will travel North to face No. 5 Stanford on Friday at 1:00 pm and No. 7 California on Saturday at 12:00 pm as the dual meet season inches to a close. The Cardinal are 17-0 (4-0 Pac-10) and the Golden Bears are 3-2 (2-1 Pac-10). The Bruins head to NorCal with a 4-2 (2-2 Pac-10) record.
Stanford holds a 3-24 all-time record against the Bruins, while Cal is 9-17 all-time. The weekend meets will be a big test for the Bruins as they get ready for the post-season.
Several Bruins have achieved NCAA standards in swimming, while Marisa Samaniego is qualified for the NCAA Zone E Meet. The Bruins will look to improve on NCAA marks this weekend, as well as look to pick up some more qualifiers.
Senior Madeleine Stanton currently ranks 21st in the nation in the 200 back, while freshmam Yasi Jahanshahi is 29th in the 200 fly. Sophomore Dani Milligan is currently 25th in the NCAA in the 400 IM. Senior Anna Poteete (50/100 free) and sophomore Emily Bibb (200 free) rank in the top-50 in the NCAA this season.
