Head Coach Joanne Boyle
'I thought it was a great game. We've said it before. There is never a dull game with USC. Every time we play them, it is a battle. They have a good game plan. They do a great job against us. I am so proud of the kids for being able to pull out a game like that. We always have a target on our back. And in a game like this, its just all about finding a way to win.'
'In December in the Oklahoma and TCU games, we didn't handle adversity well and we just sort of fell apart. We're really finding out how to handle adversity, and how to make it come together no matter the flow of the game. When we're up. When we're down. When we're in foul trouble. When shots aren't falling. We're finding a way to stay together. That's the difference in our team right now.'
On junior forward Rama N'daiye's 19 minutes
'We needed her tonight, because of the foul trouble. She did a great job. She was two-for-two, but it was her defense that was the difference. She did some really good things defensively. She really did a good job hard-hedging on the ball screens on LeNoir. We really needed her length out there. We got some tips and steals off the hard-hedge on the ball screen, so I thought she did a great job out there.'
On Devanei Hampton improvements
'So much of it comes from confidence. She had a great game and took over at UCLA. Once you make a couple of shots, you feel your rhythm and you are back. She's been working hard to get back where she is and her confidence is back. I think all of the others things are just starting to fall into place right now.'
Senior forward Devanei Hampton
'I'm just taking it one game at a time. I am taking what the defense gives me. Finishing. I'm going to be talking to Coach Hoover about finishing. And rebounding.'
'We feel a lot of confidence. We sit there in the huddle and tell each other that we are going to pull it out, especially on our home court in front of our home fans. We can't disappoint them. They make us. We had to pull it out.'
Describing the game-winning rebound and shot she took with 2 seconds remaining
'I didn't see anybody in front of me. I just got the rebound. I saw that it was coming to me. Seventy percent of rebounds come off the weak side, so I knew I had to go to the ball.'
