UCLA Baseball's Strength of Scheudle Ranked No. 1 in Nation

LOS ANGELES - UCLA's 2009 baseball schedule has been ranked No. 1 in strength of schedule by Boyd's World, a nationally-respected college baseball ranking service. The top 24 teams, as ranked by strength of schedule, all hail from either the Pac-10, Big West or West Coast Conferences.
UCLA's non-conference schedule features weekend series versus UC Davis, at Oklahoma and at East Carolina, in addition to single games against Rice, Baylor and UC Irvine at the Houston College Classic. The Bruins will face UC Irvine twice more in non-conference action at each school's respective ballpark, in addition to playing three games against Cal State Fullerton in the second to final weekend of the season.
UCLA's Pac-10 schedule features one three-game series against each of nine conference opponents. The Bruins' will welcome Arizona, Washington, Oregon State and California to Steele Field at Jackie Robinson Stadium. UCLA's conference road slate includes weekend trips to USC, Washington State, Stanford, Oregon and Arizona State.
UCLA finished the 2006 season having played the nation's No. 1 schedule. The past two seasons, UCLA's schedules have been ranked No. 2 and No. 3, respectively by Boyd's World.
The Bruins open their 2009 season with a three-game series against UC Davis on Friday, Feb. 20. Game time on Opening Night is slated for 6 p.m. at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
UCLA hosts its annual Alumni Game on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 1 p.m.
