Trojans Fall 157-130 At Cal

USC freshman diver Harrison Jones swept the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard while senior Vanni Mangoni and junior Zoltan Povazsay also produced wins in the No. 23 Trojans' 157-130 loss to No. 6 Cal on Friday (Feb. 6) in Berkeley.

Jones won the 1-meter springboard with 340.72 points and took 3-meter with 415.58, easily winning both events. The events were actually competed last week in conjunction with the women's competition against Cal and Stanford, but were held over to score in the men's swim meets.

Povazsay won the 500y free in 4:28.63 while Mangoni won the 400y IM in 3:54.91. Povazsay was also second in the 200y free (1:39.26) while Mangoni was second in the 100y back (49.14, season best).

Junior James Martin was second in the 400y IM (3:58.37) and the 200y back (1:49.30) while freshman Josh Joiner was third in the 200y fly (1:49.78).

USC will race against Stanford on Saturday (Feb. 7) at 1 p.m.
