Bruins Third after Second Round at Regional Challenge

The top-ranked UCLA women's golf team was in third place following the second round of the 14th Annual Northrup-Grumman Regional Challenge at the Palos Verdes Golf Course.
The Bruins posted a team score of 305 (+21) on Tuesday and had a 36-hole total of 619 (+51). They were 20 shots behind front-runner Arizona State (599, +31) and seven back of runner-up USC (612, +44). Wake Forest was fourth at 621 (+53) and Denver rose to fifth place with a second round score of 306 (+22) for a two-day total of 627 (+59).
Individually for the Bruins, both senior Tiffany Joh and freshman Stephanie Kono remained among the Top 10. Both players carded scores of 77 (+6). Joh was tied for seventh at 151 (+9) and Kono was tied for 10th at 153 (+11).
The remaining threesome of Maria Jose Uribe, Glory Yang and Sydnee Michaels were within a stroke of each other. Uribe posted the team's best score of the day -- a 75 (+4) -- and was tied for 22nd at 157 (+15). Yang carded a 76 (+5) and was tied for 29th at 158 (+16) and Michaels was tied for 34th at 159 (+17) after signing for a 77 (+6).
Senior Ryann O'Toole, playing as an individual, was tied for 12th place at 12-over par 154 after posting a score of 78 (+7).
Arizona State's Juliana Murcia continued to lead the field, firing an even par round of 71. She was one-under par (140) through 36 holes.
