Hey GymCat fans,
Since this past weekend at the University of Washington, the team has been working harder than ever. Every week we have been getting closer as a team and really focusing on being mentally in the zone. We have been improving incredibly and the team was really happy when we got our season-high on beam this past weekend.
This weekend is going to be pretty busy. Tonight(February 13) we compete against Brown University and Wisconsin-Stout. This isn’t the typical dual meet, so it’s going to be a new experience for us freshmen. After the meet on Friday, we are headed to my hometown in Texas to compete against Texas Women’s University. We get to have my mom’s homemade cooking on Saturday night before the meet and everyone gets to see where I live, so I’m really excited about that. We also get to see Mykle Douglas and Ellen Pitluck who are joining the team next fall. I can’t even describe how fun and exciting it is going to be to compete in my own hometown. There’s going to be so many friends and family there to cheer on us GymCats, it might actually feel like a home meet here in Tucson.
TWU is hosting their pink meet on Sunday so we get to wear the pretty pink leotards again. Overall, it’s going to be a really great meet.
I hope you can make it out to the meet tonight at 7pm in McKale!
