LOS ANGELES - Briann January scored 21 points and Dymond Simon added 19 as Arizona State set a new program record for consecutive wins with a 69-66 win at UCLA on Saturday.

With their 11th consecutive win the Sun Devils (19-6, 11-2 Pac-10) broke the old school record of 10 set by the 2005-06 team.

For the second time in as many games the Sun Devils were involved in a contest which came down to the final seconds. On Thursday USC missed a last-second 3-pointer that would have sent the game to overtime in ASU's 72-69 win. Saturday the Sun Devils could only watch as UCLA sophomore guard Doreena Campbell went to the foul line for two free throws with the Bruins trailing 67-65 with 4.6 seconds remaining.

Campbell made the first to bring UCLA within a point, however missed the second. Becca Tobin rebounded the miss for ASU and passed to Simon, who was fouled with less than a second remaining. Simon made both free throws to make the final 69-66.

Simon (15) and January (11) combined for 26 of their 40 points in the second half as both players came through with clutch points time and again to hold off a very determined UCLA squad.

The Bruins (15-8, 6-6 Pac-10), who were led by Erica Tukiainen's 17 points, shot 65 percent in the second half as they battled back from a 10-point halftime deficit to eventually take a one-point lead.

The Sun Devils got off to a fast start, scoring 11 of the first 13 points to take an 11-2 lead a little more than four minutes into the game. ASU would lead by as many as 12 following a field goal by January with 59 seconds left in the first half.

January (10) and Danielle Orsillo (9) combined for 19 of ASU's 37 first half points. The Sun Devils shot 64 percent in the first half while also forcing 13 Bruin miscues and allowing UCLA to make only 37 percent of its field goals.

In contrast to the first 20 minutes, in the second half it was the Bruins who came out as the aggressors as they outscored the Sun Devils 14-5 in the first eight minutes half to cut ASU's lead to one, 42-41.

The Sun Devils would come back and create a little separation between themselves and the Bruins. January hit 3-pointers on consecutive ASU possessions sandwiched around a Bruin field goal to give ASU a 50-45 lead with 10:26 left.

Despite having opportunities the Sun Devils were unable to extend their lead and the Bruins would take advantage of the opportunity by going on a 11-5 run to take their first lead of the contest, 56-55, on a layup by Campbell with just over five minutes left in the game.

UCLA held its Pink Zone game on Saturday in an effort to wear breast cancer awareness. The Bruins wore pink and white uniforms while the Sun Devils were outfitted in the all-pink uniforms they were attired in for their Pink Zone game against Oregon State last Saturday.
