Wise Named Pac-10 Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – University of Arizona junior guard Nic Wise has been named the U.S. Bank Pac-10 Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 9 - 15, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Wise led Arizona to its seventh consecutive win, sixth straight in Pac-10 play, with victories over USC and No. 11 UCLA. The Houston, Texas, native averaged 26.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in the two contests for the Wildcats, while shooting 70.8 percent from the field (17-24) and 62.5 percent from three-point range (5-8).
Wise opened the weekend by scoring 27 points, shooting 8-of-11 from the field. He also grabbed three rebounds and dished out four assists against the Trojans. The junior followed that performance by scoring 26 points, his sixth 20-point game this season, in Saturday's win over the Bruins.
Wise is currently 13th in the Pac-10 in scoring (14.7 ppg), sixth in assists (4.7 apg) and ninth in three-point field goals made at 1.9 per game.
This is the first weekly honor for Wise and the 75th all-time for Arizona.
