Feb. 19, 2009
CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) - Roeland Schaftenaar scored a career-high 26 points Thursday as Oregon State beat Stanford 66-54 to complete a season sweep of the Cardinal.
Calvin Haynes added 17 points for the Beavers (12-13, 6-8), who have their most conference wins since winning eight in the 2004-05 season. Oregon State won zero last season.
Jeremy Green had 19 points, all in the second half, to lead Stanford (15-9, 4-9).
Oregon State led by as many as 21 in the second half, only to see Stanford rally in the closing minutes.
Green made three consecutive 3-pointers, the last closing the gap to 59-54 with 1:53 left.
But the Cardinal wouldn't score again, and the Beavers iced the game at the free-throw line.
