WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- Pac-10 men's and women's tennis teams are back in action this weekend. On the men's side, Stanford travels across the Bay to take on rival California in Berkeley, Calif., on Saturday, Feb. 21. Stanford's Ryan Thacher and Richard Wire were named to the 2009 ITA National Men's Team Indoor Championship All-Tournament Team for No. 4 and No. 5 singles, respectively. Oregon will also take to the courts on Saturday as they face Fresno State in Seattle.
On Sunday, Feb. 22, Arizona will host Texas Tech and California will welcome the Pepperdine Waves. The Washington men's team will take its crack at Fresno State, while UCLA will travel to Waco, Texas to face the Baylor Bears.
In women's action, Pac-10 teams will enjoy time at home as Arizona, Oregon, UCLA, USC and Washington will all host opponents on Saturday, Feb. 20. Washington State is the lone Conference team on the road, traveling to Eugene, Ore., to face the Ducks. On Sunday, Oregon will play host to Ohio State, while Washington will take on Rice in the Pacific Northwest.
Others named to the 2009 ITA all-tournament teams were USC's Robert Farah in the No. 1 singles position. For the women, Mari Andersson and Claire Ilcinkas of California were named the No. 3 and No. 4 singles players, respectively.
