Husky Women 14th After First Round

PUERTO PENASCO, Sonora, Mexico -- With a combined score of 315 after the first day of play on Sunday, the Huskies are 14th at the Arizona Wildcat Invitational.

The Husky trio of Anya Alvarez, Sadena Parks and Molly Aronsson each carded a 5-over 77, putting them in a tie for 37th place. Leading the tournament is UCLA, which is the only team to shoot under par. Other Husky finishes include Katie Saucier's 12-over 84 (T78) and Karinn Dickinson's 16-over 88 (T85). The Huskies begin play at 8:45 a.m. on hole 10 with Dickinson.

Arizona State's Juliana Murcia leads the way at Peninsula Golf Club, posting a 5-under 67, which gives her a two-stroke lead over UCLA's Stephanie Kono and California's Pia Halbig.
