Announces Two Changes To 2009 Schedule

CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State baseball team announced two changes to its 2009 schedule on Monday. First, Washington and Oregon State will play the first game of their three game series, on May 8, at Safeco Field, home to Major League Baseball's Seattle Mariners.
The game will start at 6:30 p.m. PT as originally scheduled and will be the second matchup between the teams at Safeco the last three years. In 2007, Washington prevailed 6-2 in front of 10,421 fans, a Pacific-10 Conference single-game record for a league game.
Tickets are currently on sale at the Husky Ticket Office, online at gohuskies.com, or by phone at (206) 543-2200. Tickets will also be available at the Safeco Field Box Office starting March 14. All tickets for the game are $8 and are general admission.
Secondly, Oregon State announced on Monday as well that its home opener against Portland March 17 has been cancelled due to scheduling conflicts. The Beavers' 2009 home opener will now take place March 19 against Utah Valley at 5 p.m. PT.
The game against Portland is not planned to be rescheduled at this time.
Oregon State is 1-1 this season after splitting two games against Tennessee in Knoxville. The Beavers now head to the DeMarini Invitational this weekend, where they will face Northern Illinois, Missouri and Arizona State.
