No. 19 Bruins Begin Spring Season at North Ranch

Feb. 23, 2009

The No. 19 UCLA men's golf team begins the spring season Monday at the USC Golf Invitational, hosted at North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village, Calif.

North Ranch CC will play to a par of 71 over 6,869 yards. Rain is forecast for Monday's 36-hole competition.

The Bruins have won this event four times in 30 years, and produced three medalists. UCLA's most recent team victory came in 2003, the year former Bruin Steve Conway won the individual title. Last season, UCLA played its Blue Team, which finished 13th.

All seven of UCLA's eligible players will compete in Monday's competition, led by freshman Gregor Main who was ranked 34th nationally last week after making the cut at the Buick Invitational earlier in the month.
