Ahlin Breaks WSU Record at Conference Invitational

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Junior Michaela Ahlin and sophomore Rugile Mileisyte competed at the Pacific-10 Conference Invitational Sunday for another shot at swimming an NCAA Automatic cut in their respective events.
Ahlin broke the WSU record in the 100 fly with a time of 53.72, also earning her an NCAA `B' cut time. The record was previously held by current assistant coach and 2003 NCAA All-American Lindsay Henahan (53.75). The Automatic cut time for the 100 fly is 52.02.
Mileisyte time trialed in the 50 freestyle three times, clocking in at 22.65, 22.62 and 22.55 throughout the day. None of the times bested her record set earlier in the weekend with her lead off in the 200 free relay with a time of 22.45, also an NCAA `B' consideration time. She is currently ranked No. 34 in the country with that time. The Automatic cut time for the 50 free is 21.93.
