Rain Postpones 1st Day Of Spartan Invite

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- The majority of the first round of the 2009 Juli Inktser Spartan Invitational was postponed today at about noon due to rain. The golfers will attempt to finish the first round on Tuesday before beginning the final round.

Tee times will be at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Tournament play began today with a shotgun start, meaning most golfers finished six holes before being called into the clubhouse. The Huskies, at No. 35, are one of the highest ranked teams set to play at the par 72, 6,210 yard Almaden Country Club. The field includes California (ranked No. 17), San Jose State (19), UC Irvine (21), Stanford (24), Oregon (28), San Francisco (29), Colorado (32), Washington (35), Georgia State (48), UC Davis (53), Colorado State (62), Fresno State (69), San Diego State (80), Hawai'i (120) and Boise State (134).
