Three Stanford Cross Country Runners Named Academic All-American

New Orleans - Alicia Follmar, Katie Harrington and Garrett Heath have been named to the Academic All-America teams as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday.
Follmar and Harrington were two of 77 Division I female student-athletes who received 2008 USTFCCCA Cross Country All-Academic honors, representing 52 Division I institutions. Stanford was one of 17 schools to receive multiple nominations.
Harrington is earning her second career Academic All-America honor in cross country. She was previously honored in 2007 when she was a member of the NCAA Championship team for Stanford.
Follmar is a former Academic All-American in track and field, but is earning her first honor in cross country.
A total of 40 men's student-athletes received All-Academic honors for the 2008 NCAA Division I Cross Country season, representing 34 different schools. Heath is a two-time Academic All-American in track and field, but earns his first honor in cross country.
Heath finished 40th at the NCAA cross country championships to earn his first All-America honor in cross country. He is a seven-time All-American in track and field, including being a member of the 2007 National Indoor Champion in the distance medley relay.
