Gymcat Blog: Seniors
March 5, 2009
My experience on this team has been all that I could have ever imagined out of a college gymnastics program and even more. The past four years have been full of hard work, pain, determination, fun and thrilling, but most importantly I have been a part of a family; the Gymcat family. The friendships and experiences I have made since freshman year are those that will forever remain in my heart and memories. The simple things of normal practices, like bar conditioning or the warm-up dance, are things that I sometimes take advantage of. However, I am now realizing that it is these daily tasks that make this team what it is and I will miss them terribly when this is all over in a couple months. This team of great girls is always having a great time whether we are stuck in an airport all day or hitting 24/24 routines at Pac-10s. My spirits are always lifted when seeing a teammate walking across campus or just hanging out in the locker room. The comfort of always knowing that there are at least 13 other girls there for you at anytime is amazing. I know that anytime, in years to come, I can always depend on one of my former teammates to be there whenever I need them. We can lean on each other and stand by each other now and in the future. Here at Arizona, I was given an opportunity of a lifetime to not only improve and continue my gymnastics career but to learn a lot from people and classes. I truly believe I am a better person after being a part of this Arizona gymnastics family. So thank you to everyone involved with the Gymcat family who has been so supportive and extremely helpful to make this team as comfortable and strong as possible. Thanks you so much for everything you do!!!

These have been the best years of my life, and I can't believe it is going to come to an end. My teammates and coaches always have stuck by me through all the ups and downs. I know that each person has left a huge impression on me that will last a lifetime, and I hope I have done the same for them. I don't even know how to put into words the experience I have had as a gymnast here at Arizona. Coming here as a freshman I thought that I was the luckiest girl ever to be able to be a part of Arizona athletics and I still feel the same. I am very sad to be leaving gymnastics, but I am sadder to be leaving the team. This team and coaches have been a second family to me and not being a part of that will be very hard. I have made friends that will last me a lifetime and that is the most rewarding thing I have accomplished at Arizona. I am so grateful for the way this family has helped me become the person I am today.
It's been four great years and sadly its coming to an end. I remember the first time I ran out onto the floor in front of all the fans. That was the most amazing feeling, the bright lights and all the people cheering for me. Going into the last meet I am so excited to experience that for one last time. Being a GymCat means the world to me. It is a lot more than just doing college gymnastics, it is about being a part of a family. This family has been here for me through thick and thin, through injuries (and I've had plenty, haha) and successes. I am so thankful that I had the honor to be on this team. I love all the girls, coaches, fans and everyone associated with the team. The girls are all my best friends and I leave the girls with a little advice: Continue having fun doing what you are doing and don't forget to give Bill a hard time sometimes. He pretends he doesn't like it but he really does! To the coaches, thanks so much for putting up with me. And finally the fans thanks so much for all the support, you guys made it fun to compete. All the little Tucson gymnasts and the parents that congratulate us and have fun watching us, you make competing in McKale extra special. Well, it was fun while it lasted but all good things come to an end. Thanks GymCat fans Bear Down
I can't believe that my senior meet is already here. It seems like just yesterday that I was a freshman talking to my classmates about how long we had before we were going to be seniors. I can tell you first hand that time flies when you're having fun! My experience here has truly been the time of my life. I have gone to so many fun places, met so many amazing people that will forever be my lifelong friends, and had many incredible memories.I just want to take this moment to thank all of the wonderful Gymcat fans for being so supportive throughout my four years here, to thank my coaches for always believing in me and never letting me settle for less than my best, my teammates for all of the encouragement (I don't know how I could have done it without all of you), the rest of my senior class for being more than my best friends but who have truly been my family away from home, and my own family for letting me come out to Arizona to live my dream.Arizona gymnastics will always have a place in my heart and it is not because of the school but because of the people who have shaped me into the person that I am today.GO CATS!!!
