WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- It's a clean sweep for STANFORD as senior Dwight Dumais and junior Carmen Stellar have been named Pac-10 Divers of the Month for February, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Dumais captured the Pac-10 title in the 1-meter springboard with a score of 383.05 for the Cardinal. It marked the second Pac-10 championship for the senior as he also took the 1-meter title in 2007. The Ventura, Calif., native came in seventh in the 3-meter and finished ninth in the prelims of the platform competition. In Stanford's win over Cal on Feb. 21, Dumais won both the 1-meter and the 3-meter, recording scores of 332.70 and 371.85, respectively. Additionally, in a dual meet with BYU on Feb. 13, he won the 3-meter competition with a score of 403.80, nearly 84 points above the 'A' qualifying standard.
This is the first monthly honor for Dumais and the first-ever Men's Diver of the Month for Stanford.
