USC Women's Rowing Begin Season with Scrimmage

March 7, 2009

LOS ANGELES, CALIF.- USC women's crew squad will take to the waters of home port San Pedro to race USD and SDSU in a scrimmage on Saturday (March 7) at 7 a.m. This scrimmage marks the first time the Women of Troy will take to the water in the spring 2009 season.

The young team will look to do some seat racing and gain some race experience while experimenting with different lineups in both eight and four boats. Head Coach Zenon Babraj says he plans on integrating a lot of five minute pieces without start at a controlled rate during the scrimmage.

After this scrimmage the Women of Troy will travel up to Lake Natoma in Sacramento, Calif. during the week of March 16 for spring break training. The trip will wrap up on Friday (March 20) with a scrimmage against Sacramento State.
