March 8, 2009
BOULDER CITY, Nev. -- Washington coach Mary Lou Mulflur will bring eight Huskies to the UNLV Spring Invitational, which begins at 7:30 a.m., Monday at the Boulder Creek Golf Club.
The five Dawgs in Mulflur's line up for the three-day tournament will Anya Alvarez, Sadena Parks, Molly Aronsson, Karinn Dickinson and Christina Yoon. Alvarez has scored the lowest round for the Huskies in two of their four tournaments so far this year. The Huskies will once again feature a young group of golfers, as there is not a senior penciled in. Playing as individuals for the UW are Nicole Fererro, Katie Saucier and Darcie Richmond.
The Huskies will once again face another tough field, as the Dawgs, who are ranked No. 41 by Golfweek, will face two top-25 schools in No. 10 Georgia and No. 23 Kent State. The rest of the field is comprised of BYU, Campbell, Eastern Washington, Fresno State, Idaho, Indiana, Missouri, Nebraska, Oregon, Oregon State, SMU, Texas Tech, Tulsa, Washington State and UNLV.
