Golfers Chasing the Leaders at UCF Challenge

UCLA and Arizona State were in a two-horse race to the finish after 36 holes Monday at the UCF Challenge at RedTail Golf Club in Sorrento, Fla.
The Bruins lost their two-stroke lead in Round 2, posting a team score of 287 (-1) and trailed the Sun Devils by a stroke entering Tuesday's final round. UCLA was second at 569 (-7) and ASU was first at 568 (-8) after carding a team score of 284 (-4) in the second round. The two teams are ranked first or second nationally, depending which poll is used.
Oklahoma State was third at 575 (-1), followed by USC at 577 (+1). Auburn was fifth at 584 (+8).
Individually for the Bruins, sophomores Glory Yang and Maria Jose Uribe were tied for fifth place at four-under par 140. On Monday, Uribe fired a two-under par 70 and Yang posted an even par 72. Freshman Stephanie Kono was tied for 12th place at 142 (-2) after carding her second straight 71 (-1). Senior Maiya Tanaka and junior Sydnee Michaels each posted scores of 74 (+2). Tanaka was tied for 39th at 147 (+3) and Michaels was tied for 47th at 149 (+5).
Senior Ryann O'Toole, playing as an individual, was tied for 76th at 155 (+11) after posting a second-round score of 76 (+4).
Florida's Jessica Yadloczky remained in first place at eight-under par 136 after firing a second round score of 70 (-2).
