NCAA Field Set For Seattle

SEATTLE -- The NCAA announced the pairings for the Women's Basketball Tournament on Monday and Gonzaga is among the four teams assigned to the first and second round in Seattle at Bank of America Arena.
Gonzaga (26-6) earned a No. 12 seed and will face No. 5 Xavier (25-6) on Saturday, March 21 at 7:30 pm. In the other match up, No. 4 Pittsburgh (23-7) will play No. 13 Montana (28-4) at 5:00 pm.
The two winners will play a second-round game on Monday, March 23 at 6:30 pm for the right to advance to the Sweet 16 Regional in Oklahoma City.
Gonzaga and Montana were automatic qualifiers for the NCAA Tournament, by virtue of winning their conference tournaments. Pittsburg and Xavier each earned at large bids.
On Friday, March 20, all four teams will hold 60-minute practice sessions at Bank of America Arena that are free and open to the public. The first practice begins at noon, with the last concluding at 4:15 p.m. For a complete schedule, visit the Tournament Central page.

This is the third time in six years that the University of Washington has hosted the preliminary rounds of the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament. Washington hosted the West Regionals in 2004 and the First and Second Round in 2005.
