Four Swimmers & Divers Set To Compete At NCAA Championships

Four UCLA swimmers and divers are set to compete at the 2009 NCAA Championships in College Station, TX beginning on Thursday. Representing the Bruins are divers Marisa Samaniego and Tess Schofield, and swimmers Lauren Hall and Madeleine Stanton.
Stanton, who hails from Kingwood, TX, will be competing in front of a hometown crown as she grew up swimming at the pool complex. She will swim the 100 backstroke on Friday and the 200 backstroke on Saturday. This is the first NCAA Championship competition for the senior swimmer.
Hall, competing in her second NCAA meet, will swim the 400 IM on Friday and the 200 breaststroke on Saturday.
Samaniego is competing in her fourth NCAA Championship and will compete on both springboard events with 1M on Thursday and 3M on Saturday. She has earned All-America honors on one-meter at two previous championships.
Schofield is competing in her second NCAA meet and will compete on the three-meter springboard on Friday and the tower, her premier event, on Saturday.
