USC Has A Strong Day At The Northridge Invitational

Several Trojans had impressive outings at the Northridge Invitational hosted by CS Northridge on March 13-14 and high jumper Manjula Wijesekas earned indoor All-America honors at the NCAA Championships hosted by Texas A&M in College Station, Texas.
Wijesekara took seventh place with a jump of 7-0 1/4 (2.14m) to earn NCAA Indoor All-America honors. His clearance actually tied for second, but he fell to seventh on misses.
Individuals winning events at the Northridge Invitaional included: Shana Woods in the women's javelin throw B section (130-1), Marissa Minderler in the women's shot put B section (40-8 3/4), Kristine Busa in the women's javelin throw (157-9), Katalin Mate in the women's discus throw A section (159-7), Frida Flodstrom in the women's 800m (2:09.89), Shalina Clarke in the women's 100m HH (13.68) and the women's 4x400m relay team (3:40.37). Men taking home first place included: Trey Henderson in the hammer throw (193-9), Aaron Dan in the discus throw A section (187-9), Derek Scott in the pole vault (17-0 3/4), the 4x800m relay team (7:35.09), Oscar Spurlock in the 110m HH (13.92), the 1600m sprint medley team (3:23.64) and the men's 4x400m relay team (3:14.33).
