March 21, 2009
AUSTIN, Tex. - The #20-ranked Arizona women's golf team shot its highest round of the 2008-09 season and slipped to 15th place after day two of the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational, Saturday afternoon at the University of Texas Golf Club.
The Wildcats were 29-over par on the day as a team to finish at 317. The high total for the season was six shots greater than the Cats shot in the opening round of 311 at the Wildcat Invitational one month ago.
Freshmen Nikki Koller and Isabelle Boineau carded the low rounds of the day for the Wildcats, each finishing at 5-over 77 on the day. The total left Koller at 6-over for the event and in a tie for 29th place. Boineau trimmed four shots off her total from Friday and is 14-over at 158 through 36 holes.
Koller carded the only two birdies of the day for the Wildcats, besting the par-4 3rd hole and the par-5 5th hole to sit 2-under at that point. However, she was back to even after the 7th hole and went in at 41 after making the turn at even.
The final round of the event goes off with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m. (CDT) with the Wildcats spread between holes 13 and 15.
