Corvallis, Ore. -

Former Oregon State University men’s golf student-athlete Vincent Johnson competed in the Professional Golf Association’s Northern Trust Open last month as the first recipient of the Charlie Sifford exemption (diversity enhancement).  The PGA of America recently conducted a Podcast with Johnson, who is currently on the Spring Gateway Tour and hopes to qualify for upcoming Nationwide events.

The Podcast with Johnson, the 2007 PGA Minority Golf Championships medalist, can be accessed by following this link.  Johnson speaks about the opportunities for young golfers, the promotion of diversity, his journey to OSU and about his future.

Johnson was a co-captain and four-year letterman (2005-08) at OSU, graduating with a business finance degree and a minor in music.  The David Douglas High School (Portland) graduate earned Pac-10 All-Academic honors three times and was a member of the Arthur Ashe Jr., Sports Scholar Team.
