Four Huskies Named To Pac-10 WBB All-Academic Teams

WALNUT CREEK, CALIF. -- Washington junior Sami Whitcomb was tabbed to the 2009 Pac-10 Women's Basketball All-Academic second-team, while senior Michelle Augustavo, junior Sara Mosiman and sophomore Sarah Morton were named to the honorable mention squad, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Whitcomb, a native of Ventura, Calif., has a 3.38 cumulative grade point average and is majoring in history. The Husky co-captain earned her second career Pac-10 academic honor after being named to the honorable mention team last season. Whitcomb, also the Huskies' leading scorer in 2008-09, was honored by the conference earlier this month being named to the All-Pac-10 and All-Defensive Team honorable mention teams as well.
Mosiman, a junior guard from Seattle, was named to the Pac-10 All-Academic team for the second-straight season. Augustavo, a senior guard/forward from Bothell, and Morton, a sophomore guard from Monroe, earned their career first academic honors from the conference.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 grade-point average, be either a starter or significant contributor and be a sophomore in academic eligibility.
