Men's Golf Travels to Western Intercollegiate

The Oregon State men's golf team travels to sunny Santa Cruz, Calif. this next weekend to compete at the 63rd annual Western Intercollegiate. The event will be held at the Pasatiempo Golf Club in Santa Cruz. It starts Sunday March 29 anc concludes Tuesday March 31. Each day there will be a shotgun start at 9 a.m. PST.
The Pasatiempo Golf Club is a par-70 course that runs 6,511 yards in length.
The 2009 18-team field consists of Cal, Colorado, Denver, Pacific, San Jose State, Michigan St., Kansas, Brown, Fresno St., Long Beach St., Oregon, Oregon State, Mercer, Nevada, Santa Clara, St. Mary's, Wyoming and UC-Santa Barbara.

The Beavers did not participate last year at the Western Intercollegiate.

The Beavers last hit the links this past weekend at the Duck Invitational in Eugene, Ore.

Freshman Morten Madsen has made an immediat impact on the Beaver linup since the start of the spring season. Madsen, through two events has the third lowest scoring average on the team at 73.33 and posted his best finish thus far last weekend at the Duck Invitational when he tied for seventh with a 2-over par 216.
