Track & Field Set To Host UCLA Invitational This Friday And Saturday

The Bruin track and field teams will host the annual UCLA Invitational this Friday and Saturday as the outdoor season continues. This is the secondof three consecutive home meets for the Bruins.
Event Schedule: The hammer will be contested on Friday with the women's event running at 3:00 pm. Men will follow around 5:00 pm. A distancecarnival will begin at 6:00 pm on Friday night with the steeplechase and 5000m being contested. On Saturday, field events begin at 10:00 am with the women's javelin, while running events begin at 11:30 am with the men's 4x100m relay.
**The 10,000m was scheduled to be run Friday evening, but has been cancelled.

Admission: Adults are $7.00. Non UCLA students and youths (age 3-16) are $5.00. UCLA students are in free with a BruinCard.

Competing Teams: UCLA, Cal State LA, Cal State Northridge, Long Beach State, Loyola Marymount, Southern Illinois, USC, Central Arizona, Chaffey, LA Trade Tech, Long Beach, Moorpark, Pasadena, San Bernardino, West Los Angeles. Several unattached athletes will also be competing.
Rankings (USTFCCCA): In the first poll of the outdoor season, the Lady Bruins are ranked eighth, while the men's team is ranked 13th. These rankings are pre-season and reflect on returning NCAA competitors.
Regional Qualifiers:The Bruin women have picked up 13 regional qualifiers so far this season, while the men have 11 regional marks and two NCAA provisional qualifiers. Below is a list of athletes with regional qualifiers and their best marks.
