Bruins in a Three-Way Tie for Third at ASU Invitational

The top-ranked UCLA women's golf team was in a three-way tie for third place Friday after the first round of the PING/ASU Invitational at the Karsten Course in Tempe, Ariz.
The Bruins posted a team score of 297 (+9) and were tied with No. 4 USC and No. 5 Oklahoma State. Twelfth-ranked Purdue took the first round lead at five-over 293, followed by host Arizona State at 294 (+8).
UCLA senior Ryann O'Toole led the Bruins with a one-over par 73 and was tied for sixth place. O'Toole aced the par three sixth hole to go to even par on the day. She played the rest of the round in one over par.
Sophomore Glory Yang was tied for 20th after carding a 74 (+2). Junior Sydnee Michaels and freshman Stephanie Kono were tied for 31st after each signing for a 75 (+3). Sophomore Maria Jose Uribe was tied for 67th after a 79 (+7).
Freshman Brianna Do, playing as an individual, was tied for 76th, following a round of 80 (+8).
New Mexico's Jodi Ewart and USC's Jennifer Song were the first round co-leaders at two-under par 70.
