Men's Golf Travels to California for Stevinson Ranch Invitational

What's Happening This Week : The Washington State men's golf team travels to Stevinson, Calif., to compete in the Stevinson Ranch Invitational, April 6-7, hosted by Colorado...the two-day, 54-hole tournament will be played at the par-72, 7,142-yard Stevinson Ranch Golf Club...the first two rounds of play begin Monday at 8 a.m...the final 18 holes will be played Tuesday with a shotgun start at 8 a.m...final results will be posted at www.wsucougars.com.
The Field: The 15-team field pairs Washington State with CSU-Bakersfield, CSU-Stanislaus, Colorado, Long Beach State, Loyola-Marymount, Missouri, Nevada, Northern Colorado, Portland, St. Mary's, Sacramento State, San Francisco, South Dakota State and UMKC.
Traveling for the Cougars: Six Cougars will be traveling to California to take a swing at victory...the Cougar contingent includes juniors Kevin Tucker and Austin Hurt, sophomore Nick Ellis, freshmen Trent Sanders and Paul Mitzel...sophomore Xavier Dailly will also compete as an individual.
Last Time Out: The Cougar men finished in seventh place, four strokes back of the top five at the Duck Invitational March 24...sophomore Nick Ellis and junior Austin Hurt led the Cougars and each finished in a tie for 27th place, only one stroke out of the top 25.
Last Year at Stevinson Ranch Invitational: The Cougars placed fourth and three players finished in the top 25...juniors Kevin Tucker and Austin Hurt led the Cougar contingent as both fired a 4-over 220 to finished tied for 10th...sophomore Nick Ellis moved up six places in the final round to finish in a tie for 16th.
