Halbig in top-10 after second round of ASU/PING Invitational

The California Golden Bears moved up two spots in the team standings while sophomore Pia Halbig held at eighth place in the individual rankings after the conclusion of the first 36 holes of the ASU/PING Invitational in Tempe, Arizona.
Halbig, who finished day one in a tie for eighth, shot a +2 in her second round, giving her a +3 overall, tying her for eighth place in the field of 89 individuals. Freshman Diane Kwon followed her first round 73 with an 80 on day two to fall into a tie for 35th. Senior Allison Goodman dropped two strokes off her first round score, shooting a +5, 77. Junior Roseanne Niven had the largest second round improvement for the Bears, dropping seven strokes to post a 4-over, 76 in the second round.
The Bears as a team moved up to 12th in the rankings, with a team score of 615, two strokes behind Vanderbilt and just five strokes behind Stanford, who presently sits in tenth place.
The tournament, played at the par-72, 6230 yard Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Arizona, wraps up with a final round of 18 holes Sunday, April 5. Tee times begin at 7:30 a.m. Live stats will be available on golfstat.com.
