GymDawg Journal: Kristen Linton

Hey GymDawg fans!
As you may know, our season is over for the year. We did not finish with the best meet of our season, considering we counted a fall at Regionals, but there were some positives that were shown throughout the meet and the season as a whole.
I was excited to see that Sam and Haley both finished the season by performing three strong routines. The freshmen gained some high-pressure experience throughout the season and stepped up for us towards the end, which will really help for next year. I am especially proud of Hats for competing all around at every single meet this year and scoring very well for us as a freshman. She worked extremely hard all year in order to achieve this.
Kelly finished her gymnastics career with a great beam routine and started us off well on beam. Ashley also ended her career with another amazing vault, which she performed with two sprained ankles. We will miss the senior's great attitudes and performances next year!
I was also extremely excited to place fourth on bars on Saturday. I feel fortunate that I was able to finish the season considering the back problems I have been experiencing. Fortunately, we have some time off now to rest our bodies and minds from a long season of competing. I am excited to get back into the gym and begin training for next season and am curious to see how next year will unravel with our new freshmen coming in.
For now I am going to relax and finish school on a strong note. I can't wait for summer! It's just around the corner and our weather is already changing! It's been a while since I have been able to enjoy the sunshine and it makes me look forward to going to Lake Chelan in the summer with my family and friends! Chelan is my favorite place to go in the summer to get away and have time to relax and have fun. I love wakeboarding, boating, swimming, tanning, and being with my friends and family on the Lake. Although I will be in Chelan a lot this summer, I will be working in the gym when I'm home and hopefully, if everything goes well with the recovery of my back problems, I will be working on new skills and cleaning up the ones I already compete. See you all next season!!
Thanks for all your support this year and enjoy the spring weather!
